At Dare To Dream we organize events at which inspirational women share their stories with high school girls from disadvantaged backgrounds to show them that “If you can dream it, you can do it”. We call it “TEDtalks for girls”.
Inspiring women – doctors, pilots, artists, politicians, Olympic athletes, professors, business women and more –share the story of their road to success. They talk about their backgrounds, the challenges they faced and the biggest lessons they learned along the way.
We believe in a world where all girls, no matter what their background or circumstances, can achieve anything they set their mind to.
Our message? If you can dream it, you can do it!
GUIDING CHARTER FOR OUR EVENTS
- We aways use local role models We believe that true power lies in exposing girls to local role models. At Dare to Dream we source speakers locally to ensure girls are presented with role models that are socially and culturally relevant.
- We want to reach girls from disadvantaged backgrounds Our events bring together girls from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Hosted in collaboration with local high schools Our events are hosted in collaboration with a local school so that the girls receive follow-up guidance by teachers and guidance counsellors.
